Overview
Midecal ("we", "our", "the app") connects patients with doctors, dentists, laboratories, beauty centers, nurses, and pharmacies. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, and profile photo, provided directly by you or through Google Sign-In.
- Health-related booking information: appointment details, symptoms or notes you choose to add, blood type and date of birth (patients), and specialty, bio, and clinic/pharmacy/lab details (providers).
- Location (city and area): the city/area you select when booking a nurse visit or browsing pharmacies — chosen manually by you, not collected via GPS or background tracking.
- Photos: images you choose to upload as a profile picture or for a provider's catalog, selected from your camera or photo library.
- Device and push-notification data: a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token, used only to deliver appointment and booking notifications to your device.
- QR/scan data: when a nurse confirms a home visit, the app reads a QR code to verify the visit — no camera image is stored.
- Usage data: basic technical logs (app version, device type, crash reports) used to keep the service reliable and secure.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and let you sign in securely.
- To let patients book appointments and providers manage bookings.
- To send you notifications about appointment status, confirmations, and updates relevant to your bookings.
- To display provider profiles, availability, and services to patients.
- To improve app reliability, fix bugs, and prevent abuse.
Sign in with Google
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google to create your Midecal account. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not post to your Google account on your behalf.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only as needed to operate the app:
- Between a patient and the specific doctor/nurse/pharmacy/lab/beauty provider involved in a booking, so the booking can be fulfilled.
- With Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Sign-In) strictly to provide authentication and push notifications.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Midecal, our users, or the public.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secured servers that we operate. We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and authenticated API access — to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain your account and booking information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see "Your Choices" below).
Your Choices
- You can edit or update your profile information at any time from Settings.
- You can disable notifications from your device's system settings.
- You can request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us at the email below.
Children's Privacy
Midecal is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
